Understand the corridor from economy to environment
Study findings are organized into six clear, comparable themes so investors can quickly understand how each topic informs the corridor thesis and location decisions.
Public summary
Economic and regional context
The economic studies examine Tehran, Alborz, Qazvin, and Markazi as the principal influence area. The package portfolio combines a large surrounding market with scalable activities and regional value-chain connections.
The spatial studies assess the route against regional planning documents, land-use change, dispersed development, and differing eastern, central, and western capacities. Parts of the eastern section show greater development capacity, while central and western options require more careful land and environmental validation.
Ghadir Highway is a 160-kilometre, dual-carriageway, six-lane, 37-metre-wide route extending between the Abyek and Charmsahr areas. Each candidate package location must be assessed separately against road, rail, terminal, logistics-centre, and Tehran-market access.
The studies examine an immediate buffer of up to 500 metres from the route for direct effects such as noise, air, light, and vegetation impacts. Environmental influence follows watercourses, plains, agricultural land, and adjacent ecosystems rather than administrative boundaries alone.
The four-province influence area had approximately 19.7 million residents in 2021/22, equal to 23.5% of the national population that year. The immediate influence area covered seven counties and more than 1.43 million residents.
The study followed five stages from vision and baseline analysis to advantaged-activity selection, packaging, and location screening. The public portfolio contains 11 packages, five specialist superzones, and 33 priorities derived from 35 source records.
